. . . of the cal 100 movement is the seconds re-set mechanism, which eliminates unnecessary shock when synchronizing the watch with a reference clock. This type of subtle yet meaningful ingenuity is what differentiates Glashütte Original movements from the rest, in my humble opinion.
This design has much to recommend, and I sincerely hope this limited edition will eventually give way to a standard production version, preferably in steel. The cal 100 movement created for the 1878 Moritz Großmann has yet to give way to a more widely offered model, so anyone postponing a decision to acquire this Senator Observer in anticipation of an unlimited iteration in the near future would be well advised to reconsider.
Thanks very much for posting this release, Anthony.
Cordially,
Art
