My First German
After getting an Austrian, I decided to GO for a German. Here's some pictures from today's unboxing.
Tape from the shipping box. No Pilfering! And yes, the tape works. It was soooo hard to get this package open even with a knife!
Hmmm...whats in the box
Ah hah!
The box matches my sofa. A match in heaven?
Nice presentation
A potentially usable travel case
The German design even trickles down to the box - a lovely smaller compartment to store the push-pin
Lovely finishing of Geneva stripes...or rather Glashutte ribbing
I love how the movement plays well with light.
And I love how the dial changes character with the light. It so dynamic. From a light silver....
To a soft metallic grey...
To a dark, masculine grey-black. Anyone notice how well the date wheel matches the dial? Well done GO! Well done.
Great satination on the buckle.
Horizontal and polished surfaces are gracefully and purposely done
And some mandatory wrist shots. Love the thinner bezel on this newer iteration.
I could not be happier to add this German to the stable. A great value, period - Glashutte is clearly underrated. There is fantastic attention to details ie. matching the date wheel colour to the dial colour, and excellent finishing to the movement and case. And don't forget the characteristic off-center, asymmetric dial design.
My only gripe would be the single-fold deployant as I personally find double-fold/butterfly clasps to be much more comfortable.
Hope you enjoyed looking!
Cheers,
Cholack
