I recall this issue (i.e., G.O. discontinuing the use of gold chatons in the Cal. 100) coming up some time ago in the case of the Navigator and, if you do a search, you'll probable see this too.

I believe gold chatons were dispensed with . . .
. . . in the cal 100 some time ago, DB. Early production models had them, at least for watches cased in precious metal, but I don't recall any cal 100s in recent years with gold chatons. Yet another reason to have held onto the cal 22 ;-) . . .
