Glashütte Original

Good question

NickO,

I did the same exercise with 2 comparable function watches that I own:
Lange Datograph and Glashuette Original Panograph.

There is a tiny difference in the depth of shine (blacker) and crispness of finishing where two surface abutt. Both are well finished pieces but the Lange has an "overall 3-D" depth. Whether that is due to the Datograph movement architecture showing more innards or a truly better finish are points of much debate. I could have been more mesmerized by the thingymajigs than a 3/4-plate.

You are indeed lucky if you cannot see a difference because your choice is then down to the real-world factors like the layout, function or dial design rather than some imperceptible shininess smile

Like hi-fi audio equipment, if you cannot perceive the difference, why pay extra? Surely not because someone else told you there was a difference.

On the other hand, do I think the tiny difference that I think I can see is worth the extra money......er.....Yes.
But some of my friends don't think so.......

Regards,
MTF
