Ah, so you did it via manual focus...
I can't do that on mine as I don't feel the precision (a Nikon Micro 85mm DX); so I'm using a budget focus rail at the moment. There are some articles about the differences between both methods, but I didn't delve too deep into it...for the lens I'm using I'm forced to use the rail

How many did you needed? Last I did mine, I needed as many as 50... How many variants of the panograph dial are there? The ones I usually see have the dots for the minute totaliser... Regards, skyeriding

I used only 16 pictures, focus on each was quite shallow as I used a Zeiss 100mm f/2 makro planar at around f/5.6 I think. The lens does not provide exif data to my Fuji camera being mounted on an adapter so I'm not sure. I definitely needed more frames o...
Shhh, when taking photos like these...
Don't publicly mention the defects from the focus stack; no one will realise and just let them stare in awe! I jest of course, but personally I have lots of trouble when focus stacking; especially for complex shapes like the hairspring and alignment issue...

... I am considering getting a rail. I racked focus manually for these which didn't help but the Zeiss is manual focus with a well damped ring and about 300 degrees of throw so it wasn't too bad.

Great shot! I downloaded the full size picture and was severely impressed about its quality. I have so much to learn. Amazing how different cal. 61 is from cal. 37 (the current automatic chronograph movement) in concept and execution. Best, Martin
