We fear you're the only one, Anthony.

Our first thoughts were: the panorama date is a foreign body on this dial.
It doesn't go well together with the special design of the Sixties dial.
So, in our opinion "less" is "more" on this watch smile
Best regards,
M&G

Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar XL

PRESS RELEASE Basel Preview 2010 PanoMaticLunar XL Less is more A statement of principle: less is more . Minimalism. Modern design. Function takes on form, and color is transformed into a subtle range of grays. The PanoMaticLunar XL . The quintessential u...

Now THIS is just my taste!

Very pretty! Gray is the new black! We just saw VC release their largely gray collection at SIHH, and now this beauty emerges. I love it! Cheers, Daos

This is good news!

Great! A PML XL in stainless steel indeed is very good. Being a long time admirer of the regular PanoMatic Lunar trying it on I still found it a little small on the wrist compared to its thickness. (I have no problems with smaller watches. I do own one wi...

We agree 100 per cent, Martin. Now we have got ...

I so love this simplicity.... the color combination... stunning piece Thanks Faisal

PanoMatic Venue XL?

 By: Le Chef : January 29th, 2010-07:20
If they introduced a PanoMatic Venue XL with this dial design/aesthetic it would be a killer choice. PLEASE???

Love it!! Thanks Anthony...

I am a sucker for grey dials. In a SS case with a brushed caseband (another favorite detail of mine)... I digging it big time!

I'm a fan of grey and a fan of steel...

 By: moc : January 30th, 2010-01:36
well done GO ,many will follow I feel it ,not only for the economic climate but SS will be more aknowledge very soon.GO got there first.I love it and I might consider it.Going to Basel.Mo

A very interesting watch....

 By: MiniCooper : January 30th, 2010-07:58
I always thought that this model needed a larger case 42mm (vs 39) suits the dial much better..... A watch to be seen in metal Cheers

if there's already an XL then

 By: Tony A.H : February 9th, 2010-16:53
there must be a Plan for an XXL Case. oh i WISH they'll be a 46mm Case for the PML on the Horison.! love this Watch but it's way too small for me. thanks for posting. Tony

In that case . . .

 By: Dr No : February 10th, 2010-10:35
. . . you might want to give the Sport Evo Impact a try: For added context, here's a posed shot . . . . . . on my slender wrist. Cordially, Art...

Glashütte Original Senator Sixties Panorama Date

 By: AnthonyTsai : January 28th, 2010-19:50
PRESS RELEASE Basel Preview 2010 Senator Sixties Panorama Date Stylish Design It only takes a glance to recognize the 1960s. This extraordinary period's unmistakable look and feel lives on in the movies and the music, architecture and design we still admi...

The addition of the big date...

 By: dxboon : January 28th, 2010-23:00
...unfortunately does not enhance the watch IMO. The original Sixties was perfection (Although, I wish the stainless version had been offered in a handwind.). This version doesn't speak to me. I love GO's panorama date on other models in their portfolio, ...

fonts don't match

 By: Ferdinand : January 28th, 2010-23:40
I love GO's big date! But in this watch the font of date just doesn't match the fonts of the dial at all. Ferdinand

exactly

 By: aldossari_faisal : January 29th, 2010-00:44
yes for the first few seconds i was hummmm whats not fitting well and there and there i go i noticed the same thing. Thanks Faisal

I honestly didn't even notice that aspect of the dial!

 By: dxboon : January 29th, 2010-00:55
Now that you raise the issue though, it's all I can see. Sigh... Still, I'm looking forward to what GO will bring us at Basel. Cheers, Daos

Lots of pieces have different fonds on the dial.

So, I don't really see a big problem? Cheers, -- Richard.

C'est la vie . . .

 By: Dr No : January 29th, 2010-00:48
. . . or, as they say in France, "you can't win 'em all" . . . ;-) . . .

It's true

 By: dxboon : January 29th, 2010-00:57
I give GO an A+ for effort, and we all know there are some people that just cannot live without a date display on a watch (I am not in that particular club myself.), so this is the Sixties for them. That new PanoMatic Lunar though...yummy! Cheers, Daos

Hmmmmm,

 By: stromer : January 29th, 2010-00:20
I am afraid I need to agree with Daos. When G.O. released the Sixties it was clear that this watch's was desiged to cite GUB watches from those years and to give them a careful polish. For me (and it seems to many others) that worked out really nicely. (E...

Is it not a question of balance, Martin? A watch that . . .

my friend..... I hope that you are enjoying your white weekend Cheers

Am I the only one who likes this big date version over the non-big date version? :P

 By: AnthonyTsai : January 29th, 2010-06:48
I never liked the regular non-big date Senator Sixties that much, but the addition of the big date makes it much more appealing to the eye for me. Nevertheless, the Senator Sixties Square chrono still tops them all for me! Cheers, Anthony

Kinda looks that way, boss! . . .

 By: Dr No : January 29th, 2010-09:49
. . . the large date function really alters the appearance of the Sixties, so it doesn't surprise me at all that this latest version is appealing to a different audience . . . cordially, Art

Hold that thought...

 By: patrick_y : January 29th, 2010-10:50
Hold that thought... You like the Senator Sixties Square Chrono just the way it is... Would you like the Sixties Square Chrono with a central big date? Thanks for the preview! Looking forward to Basel 2010!

Shrug won't know until see one :P [nt]

i very much like the original senator sixties and this new one that anthony has posted. if there had been any insistence on echoing the dial's font in the date font, i think it would not have looked good at all because the size of the date numbers themsel...

The black dial version projects a more . . .

 By: Dr No : January 29th, 2010-10:06
. . . coherent appearance, imho. The contrast between the two fonts is relatively stark on the silver dial, and the black dial and matching date background has an ameliorative effect. Thanks for adding the photo, Anthony . . . cordially, Art

I like the 60s very much and I also like the double date I do not think that this combination works.... The watch has grown 3mm and looses its retro styling while the double date adds more modern than classic... The idea is interesting but the result has ...

Interesting idea

 By: rnaden : February 2nd, 2010-03:24
I like the panodate complication on some of the GO models, but I have to agree with most here, that the date window and font used just doesn't go with the overall sixties classic look. It does stick out a little too strangely and doesn't blend with the de...
