Hi SteveH,
I was browsing through the GO forum and noticed that you previously owned a Panoretrograph. I have recently acquired one as well, and I have an urgent question regarding the operation of the countdown function of the Panoretrograph.
I know that in order to use the countdown timer with chimes, the crown must be pulled out and rotated on cloclwise.
When I set the timer - for example, to 5 minutes - push the crown back in, and press the countdown button, then the minute counter moves to "4 minutes" within the first 5 seconds. Then, when the minute counter reaches 0 (and another 5 seconds pass), the chimes occurs and the countdown contines.
My question here is what the ACTUAL time elapsed between the countdown timer and the chimes should be. In my case, since the minute conter decreases almost immediately after starting the retro function, the time elapsed (when I set to 5 minutes) betweeen the pressing of the countdown button and the chime itself is 4 minutes ( plus 5 seconds to be more exact) instead of 5 minutes. I've tried this on various setting - setting timer to 2 minutes will cause chime to occur after 1 minute elapses, and setting timer to 30 minutes will cause chime to occur after 29 minute elapses, et al. In other words, if I set the countdown timer to 1 minute, then the chime occurs after 5 seconds (instead of after ~1 minute), as the minute counter moves to 0 position.
Is this a normal, proper function of the countdown function, or is there some mechanical an issue in my watch?
Quick advice would be very much appreciated!!!
Cheers,
Tim
