What I didn’t know was that GP brought the tourbillion into mainstream they using novel manufacturing to produce a cheaper and more versatile version. Am I wrong?

It's a good thing they wrote "Tourbillon" and "Repitition Minutes Carillon" on the dial or else the owner surely would have forgotten with such a discreet dial

I've handled a similar one live and find this bezel wide but rather stylish in its own right. IMHO, nowadays bezels are thin to make watches look bigger/wider, but it is not necessarily better, just different.
