Girard Perregaux

Two very special vintage gold Girard-Perregaux’s

Friends,

A quick dive into my collection, let’s have a side-by-side look at two very interesting and quite special Girard-Perregaux gold dress watches. Both have a pioneering spirit and were at the forefront of technological advancement.

First we have the 39 Jewels Gyromatic, Ref 7050, from approx.. 1955-57.

One of the very first watches from GP featuring the inhouse developed Gyromatic technology, that allowed a space-efficient and reliable automatic winding in wristwatches. 14k yellow gold case with applied indexes and a cream-coloured dial.

Second we have the Chronometer HF, Ref 8856 from around 1965. Yes, around 10 years between these watches and again Caliber 30.7 was a technical breakthrough with High Frequency balance (36000 vph) and Chronometer certification. This is the quite rare manual wind and no date version in this elegant 18k yellow gold case.

Two absolute marvels in my collection that I deeply adore.
