Set the Alarm and GMT on the 4935
Sep 01, 2018,17:29 PM
The Alarm is set with the lower stem winder. While the stem is pushed in against the case, turn the stem to wind the alarm function. May take as many as 30 to 40 turns. To move the Alarm hand to the desired hour, pull the stem out and turn BACKWARDS. If the stem is left pulled out, the Alarm is set to buzz. If the stem is pushed in, the alarm will stop or will not buzz.
GMT is set with the upper stem pulled out to the middle position and turned BACKWARDS.

I'm back, don't be alarmed. Girard-Perregaux Traveller II Alarm, GMT, 49350

Friends, after having to take a break to sort out urgent family matters, I'm back and I couldn't help coming back with a Girard-Perregaux Alarm watch, the Traveller II with Alarm and GMT, Ref 49350. A very useful combination of complications: You have a d...
I like it, but...

I feel the lugs could have been a touch slimmer. That came out sounding negative. Not my intention! I have been eyeing that modell for a while, and it was only now when I saw the side by side shot, that i felt it could have benefited from slimmer lugs. Be...
I have the same reference

And I concur with you that the lugs are quite big. Therefore even as it is a 38mm watch, you still need bigger wrists, even if the lugs are nicely curved. However, at this price point it is amazing value for money. Just look at the quality of the dial. It...
Great to hear, Dirk.

And true, the dials on this Reference are amazing. Difficult to capture the details in photos.
Thanks Claes

it is a possible point for improvement. However, the lugs are nicely shaped and will fit a small wrist too. I also feel that in the metal this is not so prominent. It has likely to do with the box-shaped crystal which makes the bezel almost disappear. The...

Back with the lovely 49350 dial! Yes, lugs are well pronounced on this one. As on all from this time period sharing similar case. After having the 4940 in the stable for some time now, I must confess I should have gone for the larger 49350. I do have quit...
Welcome back and be strong

CC, We missed you a lot, my friend. Thank you for your stoic return with a unique timepiece. Best regards, MTF
It's funny

neither the modern is particularly large nor the vintage one particularly small. Just side-by-side it is very apparent. Thanks Alkro. CC
Absolutely gorgeous!

Hope everything was resolved and that things are back to normal... Now, on to your Traveller, I have always had a soft spot for this very usefull and practical watch. Your version is probably my favorite, as it has a lot of elegance in its cream dial with...
Many thanks Alex for the kind words

and glad you like the Traveller II. I agree, it is a great complication and still quite easy to find. Best, CC
Traveller 2 in blue

Just saw a picture on google of this watch in deep dark blue. Didn’t know that existed - must have been a rare colour?
Many thanks, HS

and you don't need to look down on your black Traveller (other than looking down your wrist ) I think the black is sportier and in fact, I still consider adding a black Traveller one day, but many other priorities before that happens. Cheers. CC
