And I concur with you that the lugs are quite big. Therefore even as it is a 38mm watch, you still need bigger wrists, even if the lugs are nicely curved. However, at this price point it is amazing value for money. Just look at the quality of the dial. It can rival a lot of dials of current production watches 10x more expensive. All together, I still love mine after having it for more than 10 years.

and you don't need to look down on your black Traveller (other than looking down your wrist ) I think the black is sportier and in fact, I still consider adding a black Traveller one day, but many other priorities before that happens. Cheers. CC
