The number on the movement (typically 7 digits) will denote the caliber (first two numbers plus the next two for the revision.
For the model's reference number, there is no consistent system. If you see a number between the lugs at 6 o'clock then it will be the Reference #. If not, there are 3 other options:
There is a number outside on the case back. It could be a combination of Ref # plus serial number or only a Ref number
There is a number inside the case back: would need interpretation
You cannot find a number at all
