Laureato 38 mm? Nope. 42 mm? Nope … 41 mm ✅

Here are some pics of my 41 mm Laureato
Ref 81000

This is the father to the current Gen 5 of the laureato.

225 made in silver and 225 made in blue dial in 2016 to mark the 225th anniversary of GP and the first time a new laureato to be seen since 2003.

It was made as a novelty of sorts to test the market.

It’s the same thickness as the 38 mm laureato at about 10 mm and about 1.4 mm thinner than the 42 mm. The 42 mm was launched in 2017 and the 38 mm in 2018. All designed by Stefano Macaluso.

Dial size is the same as the 42 mm

Lug-to-lug 47 mm or so. About 1.5 mm smaller than the 42 mm.

Different bracelet. GP changed vendor to reduce costs when making the 42 mm.

Also the GP logo is smaller and the indices and hands are thinner. Hands a bit longer as well.

Polished bezel.

White date wheel.

Movement is the cal 3300. Smaller than the 1800 in the 42 mm but big and good enough.

225th and individual LE number engraved on the caseback.

For those that are looking for a Laureato, I suggest this one if one is interested in rarity and significance. Chrono24 has a few at very nice prices. Naturally, liking the looks is most important. Personally, I love this one. It’s quite elegant and clean … especially on the silver dial.

Next year is the 50th anniversary of the laureato.

So the 42 mm is nice too. Don’t get me wrong. I have it in my collection as well.
This one is just more rare. Folks like me care about these sort of things. It’s a more “pure” version IMHO.

Looks great with a suit or jeans and T-shirt.

Quiet elegance is how would describe this anniversary special edition.

I took some pics in my light box too.

Happy to hear feedback and comments. 🤝

Maybe something to check out again, if the prices have returned to the realms of the reasonable 😊👍🏻

Good idea 👍🏻

But you have to contend with tax though… painful.

Depends on where the seller is…

If the same tax union, there’s nothing on top 😊👍🏻
