I am agree with you CC when you say that the design of the dial is not impacted by the small caliber but...
...it is just due to two stratagems from GP: 1/ a first circular shape of city names and 2/ a second ring with a 24h night/day indicator.
If I am right, the size of this model is 43 or 44mm and, without these both elements, it would be impossible to combine a such big watch with a so small caliber.
Nevertheless, this model is really desirable. Finally, without marketing considerations, a solid case back with a globe or something else relative to trips... or financial markets (which are part of the thematic of this watch) would be better no?

...The only drawback, in my opinion, is relative to the case back as the caliber is too small comparatively to the case... but it is something you can note in many GP unfortunately. I hope GP will change that in a near future

I dont quite know why. World time watches are great. GP as a brand is very close to my heart. But despite all the tick-offs, i was never looking for one. I should put it on my wrist one day, just to give it a try. Maybe it will grow on me. Best Stefan

I think the Chronograph is not everyone's taste, but take a closer look at the World Time only versions, esp. 49865. It is smaller (41mm), thinner, without date and very classic. But as always, a dangerous thing as you may end up with another purchase Tha...
I am one of those people who prefer the time-only.
It's a cleaner dial-the chronograph sub-dials seem so small as to be almost unusable but they clutter the dial. The time-only I think is just perfect. Really great watch, though, no matter what version.
