Girard Perregaux Gyromatic 9443 HA pulled out of storage
Nov 11, 2018,05:50 AM
I apologize for reviving this thread two years later.
You see, I just pulled out a Gyromatic 9443 HA out of my storage a couple of weeks ago. I could not find much information about it, but your post was quite helpful. The watch was given to me by my mother over 30 years ago, when I was 12 years old. To be honest, I thought it was a fake Swiss watch, with a crazy time bomb alarm system. Of course I did not care about it, but thankfully I never lost it.
Fast forward to the present, and I have some friends who are into watch collecting. I started looking at watches and then I told myself, let me bring this GP to a shop and get a new band for it. The man at the shop was pleased with the watch, and assured me that it's real. With that, I find myself here, trying to learn more about it.
It has 9443 HA engraved on the case, at the 12 o'clock position, underneath the strap. In the couple of week that I've been wearing it, I can tell that the time, date and alarm functions are working. The acrylic crystal has a scratch above the date window, and has a slight deformity to the left of the alarm window. I'm assuming it will need service, so I'm definitely doing that next. Now that I know what I have, I want to get a better strap that would better complement this fine watch.
Anyways, I just thought I'd share that.
Thanks again.
