Vintage GP Aero Compax

Lots of patina on this well-worn GP, which I’m guessing dates from the 1940s based on the model.  The unusual crown at 9 o’clock changes the register at 12 o’clock to enable the user to set a particular time to remember.  The hands on that top register move only manually - a curious complication I confess I never use but find charming. Classic Universal Geneve movement.  This particular watch has obviously been through a lot, but its original owner was in my family, so I like the visible signs of history. Wears very well too.

Wasn't aware GP had the Aerocompax in their line-up.

It's interesting, the connections between the brands in those days (and even now).

A gorgeous and very rare piece!
