Question regarding GP 1999 chrono

 By: hitman : November 15th, 2010-11:40
Does anyone have the production numbers on the 1999 vintage chrono (4946)? I picked up a black dial version second hand and I was curious to know how of them are out there. I didn't see any in my search.

If I remember correctly, the SS version was limited to 2000 pieces.

While the gold versions were limited in production, but as far as I know, GP didn't communicate on the number of GP Vintage Chronos released in gold. Aaah, it would be great if you could post some pics, as this watch is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! Best, Nicolas

Not even that

Hi, The 4946 was impossible to see when it was for sale. Then the trend went to larger watches (the 4946 is 38mm large), maybe that's why they stopped it; It was replaced by the 4958, a 40mm flyback version. The larger one has a "simple" sapphire glass wh...

I love the cream dial on your 4946. I have the black faced one myself. I have all numeral indices on my piece and you have some arrow shaped indices. Were there 2 versions of the 4946?

There were several iterations

Hi, There were several iterations in time on the 4946 . Mine is a rare one (apparently less pieces than I have fingers on my right hand ). Cheers Dje

please correct me if I'm wrong,

but I'm yet to see one with 4 digit number engraved on the case back. I also have one in black dial and all applied numerals. Very versitile watch. It gets most wrist time.
