 By: crown comfort : August 9th, 2018-03:17
Friends, Baron’s recent series of identifying future Rolex classics from the modern era - see here: has led me to think about doing a little research on semi-vintage Girard-Perregaux’s from the 1990s and share some still underappreciated models. Now, let...

I think I have started something I may regret......

Great report and what temptation!! Just delving back a decade or two opens up a wealth of wonderful watches to explore. Very tempting.

You can only blame yourself :)))

Your Sea Hawk is a very cool version and I think also quite rare with the dots on the black dial. I have taken the liberty to add one of your pictures of your Sea Hawk. CC Photo MCG ...

Good to hear :)) [nt]

Had no idea about these, and I am absolutely loving your SeaHawk. Keep these coming, the info they provide is invaluable to anyone who likes watches, whether GP specific or not.

Oh god.

Great initiative, great post! :)

Thank you for this post, CC! Yes, from the 7000 series I find the Sea Hawk 7100 the nicest. A good solid watch with a nice 80s/90s look and feel. Looking forward to more of these reports! Best Blomman

Many thanks Blomman. Yes, the Sea Hawk is just a solid all-round great watch

one day I will bridge it with the vintage Sea Hawk line...

Thanks for sharing cc

Also just learning about these pieces. I actually miss the sea hawk series from a few years back. A rather aggressive n unique look which I quite fancy. Sadly they did not continue that line of design. Credit: Picture taken from my-watchsite.com ...

Many thanks! Unfortunately,

the current collection has been stripped of the Sea Hawk and we are eagerly awaiting a new Diver in the collection. Let's hope for 2019.

Thanks so much for starting a fantastic series, CC!

Really looking forward to additional instalments Just a question here - the Ref. 7000 chronograph you didn’t go into in much detail. Any favourite versions (in addition to the one you own and have shown)?

Thanks KMII...for the Chronograph

obviously besides the one I own, I also like the all white dial the Blue dial and the black with golden sub-dials All photos from Chrono24 CC ...

These are quite lovely...

The all white being my favourite, I guess

The white is cool, combine it with a vintage style strap

 By: crown comfort : August 16th, 2018-00:29
and you have a winner.

Certainly! [nt]

G-P reference 7750

 By: chippyfly : August 10th, 2018-06:57
I hope this is relevant and here is a picture of my G-P 7750. Only about 440 of these were produced around early to mid 1990's. ETA-based movement with small seconds at 6. Only WR to 30 metres but has a screw-down crown and diver-like, unidirectional beze...

Thanks Clive for another model from the 7000 series

 By: crown comfort : August 11th, 2018-04:43
I'm pretty sure it was a production model, but you're right, not often seen.

Thank you - excellent article ...

 By: montilier : August 18th, 2018-01:52
... may i add, that GP also made 7000 series diver with a case diameter of 34 mm. On the picture out of the catalogue of 1994 on the left is the 38 mm model, in the middle and to the right are two 34 mm models. The 38 mm models had a water resistance of 5...

Many thanks Monti

the middle sized Sea Hawk is very rare as far as I know. It would be likely a boy or even a girl's watch. Do you know if it has a quartz movement? CC
