His restaurants have been a great inspiration to many chefs and customers. I have had the pleasure to dine in his restaurants and have always enjoyed the experience.
Very sad news. On the bright side, his grand-daughter Emily is continuing the tradition and recently opened Caractere in Notting Hill London - highly recommended!
For the little story - i remember attending one of Emily's birthdays as a child. We went to the same school. I didn't know who her father was (Michel Roux Jr and owner of Gavroche) but thought that the cake his team has baked was particularly good!
