I guess we know for the VI there was a previous watch produced for a collector (I’d posted a picture of it previously). But for sure, the resemblance is striking.
I see your point. Its very difficult to know, as this is such a rare piece.
As you say, the V(i) started its life in the shape of the "carpediem" in 1997. We know that FPJ worked for Cartier designing movement for a Tortue case. Perhaps he has seen this watch in the cartier archives?However - I think this is highly speculative.!!...
