In my view I wouldn’t say ugly. I’m thinking it has something conceptual and raw to it rather than refined and classic. A fresh take... I find that it is refreshing as so many manufacturers are doing tourbillons these days. That wasn’t so when the first tourbillons came out. Mr Journe always wants to push the boundaries and I’m thinking he has felt obliged to come up with something new. Do I think it’s the most beautiful yet? No. To me the first one will always be the winner.
I do think the cut out space around the tourbillon has something really interesting to it. Double up wrote in his reply that he would like to see a full dial. I think he hits the spot. That would accentuate the aesthetic effect of the mirror a lot. An other big improvement would be a 40 mm case.
Thanks for chiming in
Best
Christian

The one thing on this piece for me, is it has an english tone with the brass dial that is not traditionally FPJ, nothing wrong with that but I cannot help to think of what a traditional dial would look like. More refined perhaps and I realize it is very h...
You make a very interesting point about the dial

I think the lack of a dial makes it more conceptual looking vs a full dial that would have looked more refined in a traditional sense. It will be interesting to see if a version with a full dial will appear, down the road. Why not, when I think about it. ...
