After much deliberation, I have sold my Vacheron Constantin Malte Chrono. I genuinely loved that watch and it was very hard to let it go. However, I found an effective way to ease the pain . . . I quickly replaced it with a new piece.
I have been a fan of F.P. Journe watches for a long, long time. Everything about Journe watches are a work of art, from the dials, to the cases, to the movements. Journe has an “old school” approach to watch making that is reflected in every detail of their pieces. In terms of quality and craftsmanship, Journe watches are on a par with the finest watch houses!
I looked at several Journe watches, but in the end, one particular model sang to me considerably louder than the rest . . . the Octa Calendrier. I bought the 40mm Calendrier in Platinum. It is an annual calendar with a retrograde date, and windows for the month and day of the week. It has the traditional Octa subdial for the time function. The movement is made out of rose gold and is gorgeous. This watch is absolutely stunning. I wore it yesterday and could not stop looking at it. As much as I loved the Vacheron, I like this new piece even more.
I have not had time to snap any decent photos of the watch, but I did take a couple of quick wrist shots. Notice how the grey dial changes colors depending on the angle of the light. The dial is amazing!!!
Beyond taking delivery of my Panerai 292 as soon as it is released, I am very content with the current state of my collection and have no present plans to change anything (at least until I hear about the new models introduced at Basel next year).

Craig
