Boutique in Miami really took good care of me. They had one bespoke strap, and I got it for the Havana. It is a lovely dark matte brown, with nice light colored striations. Quite striking up close. They were so accommodating. Sent me videos and pictures o...  

I knew I wanted a different color than the honey, but couldn't place exactly what it should be. Boutique staff gave me lots of great options, and really pointed me in this direction. Credit to them. I like the dark matte brown. It just works.

And yes, the Miami boutique staff are great as well.

It really is something special when you see it. As you suggest, just the right amount of sprinkles in all the right places. I got the 40mm, and have just shy of a 7 1/4" wrist. Fits like a peach and I have to tell you, FPJs wear exceptionally well. I know... 

Oh, but I do have a question. I'd suppose there is an article on the web somewhere, but perhaps you could just tell me how a solid gold movement is supposed to hold up over time. Please bear with my ignorance of metals, and of Journe's application of such... 

But I do not know the metallurgical aspects of the gold used in the movements. Perhaps one of our more knowledgeable members does know and will opine. I can tell you I have never heard one word of derision toward the movement or it's durability. In fact, ...

It is the plate and bridges that are made of 18 kt rose gold. Certainly stiff and ridged enough for this job. The parts that are subjected to wear, like gears, pinions ect Are still made of traditional materials such as brass or steel.

I think there might be some confusion on the meaning of the term "bespoke" here, which may also be why you are confused about the stamping on the strap. FPJ OEM straps (the ones that come with the watch, or that you'll find sitting in the FPJ boutiques) a...

Just trying to explain how it was "marketed" to me. I was also surprised the customer who ordered it wasn't asked strongly to buy it. Speaks to the good intentions of the folks in Miami. I am of course happy they declined, as it allowed me to swoop in and... 

Sorry I know this thread is years old. How much do you prefer the FPJ deployant over the traditional buckle? I’m considering getting one for the Chronometre Bleu.

You will find a post that shows an ingenious feature on the deployant clasp. When you twist the logo on the clasp it tightens the or loosens the strap; but the deployant buckle ain’t cheap 😂

Ya it is pretty pricey, but I do love a good deployant. The description you gave is very intriguing. Do you have the QR spring bars on your FPJ? Do they hit the case or impede the motion of the strap if you were to pull down the strap straight down 90 deg... 

But it’s especially amazing on this deep brown. Wear it in good health!
