If you're going to make a watch with genuine idiosyncracy, this is how to do it.
I know very little about FPJ but have recently warmed to what it represents. This is the first time I've seen this particular watch too. "Whimsy" is the right word: it pulls off those dial elements with an almost nonchalant ease. Quite marvellous.
I’ve always loved this dial.
I have come so close to buying it so many times but the Reports of problems with the calendar has made me hesitate. I quite regret this now. It’s SO cool!
Mine was serviced last year...
and it is supposedly a very simple correction at service to "fix" the issue they had. It's a wonderful watch. Very charming and unique complication.
The odd one.
Really unusual watch which does seem like the odd one in the catalogue (not a bad thing and not a negative to me). I remember talking to some collectors about this watch several years ago when interest was picking up generally and the used market was real...
I agree with all of this.
Sort of the "forgotten" brass and ruthenium piece. But, I think in time, people will realize the uniqueness of it, the fact that it is of the brass and ruthenium era, and that the layout and chapter rings are just cool. It's a fun watch.

When the Patek 5212 came out I thought of this immediately. But of course Journe does it more whimsically, including zodiac signs rather than business weeks, and through a turning ring rather than a pointing hand.

Tried to buy this at auction numerous times over past 4 years. My expectations didn’t quite meet reality.
Now the price is stratospheric
Yeah, I think waiting on brass prices to come down is no longer a viable strategy.
This is actually still the last of the "affordable" brass, but I do wonder how long that will continue to be the case. It's a great watch and mine works flawlessly. I love it.
