I’ll keep you posted.

I go to Equinox, and it seems like they’ve taken measures, driven in part by the city (capacity, health inspections) and in part themselves to take extra precautions (electrostatic disinfectant sprayers). I might sit out this week and the next to make sure I don’t hear of violations or unthought-of risks.

Separately, (I may have asked you this before, but) did you take your CTS into the pool often? I’ve been very curious about the water resistance of these things. I know the technical rating is 3ATM and the people at FPJ (and others) insist that they’re surface-swimmable, but the lack of screw-down crown makes me nervous. The biggest driver for my nerves are (1) the risk of the crown getting caught on something and (2) the possibility of residue from chlorine and other scum building up around the stem, whereas you can rinse a screw-down crown more intensely to make sure there’s no buildup. What do you think?

Is there an aftermarket strap?

You can not original anymore, so would be nice to have an alternative.

So no more OEM strap then. Oh well! [nt]

Do you know how to get one? May be an old stock, OEM straps not available anymore through boutique

I’ve been going to the gym in Singapore for a month now.

So far so good. There should at least be crowd control measures in place.

Workout with 😷 on? [nt]

No message body

No masks during workout. 1 to 2 meter distance. Machines wiped/cleaned after use.

But to be safe, I dare not join the classes. You have to book your slot in advanced as they limit number of people at any given time. Booking only opens 2 days before your intended session. Helps in contact tracing too.

Exactly.

I decided to cancel my membership despite feeling guilty about it. It would just be too stressful to go there. I bought a Concept 2 instead. Great piece there. So amazingly light!

I can’t wait

For the gyms to be open again in Los Angeles! Everything was open for a few weeks and then it was over . I was swimming a few times a week and feeling really good. This virus has got to go away eventually.

Let us know when you go; I’m curious.

For me, my main outside gym is really driven by pool use and it seems there is no timeline for pool reopening yet.

I’ll keep you posted.

Lots of new restrictions.

Reduced capacity, no studio classes, hourly cleaning, health inspections, etc. They do require masks, which won’t impact me too greatly because I only need the free weights at the gym and do my cardio outside (in NYC, even some runners outside wear masks)...

I went back to the gym, until it was again closed. My experience.l..

I'm very much against masks at the gym, and didn't wear one. Oxygen deprivation doesn't seem like a good idea while working out vigorously, and face-touching is a real problem. About 80% of the gym-goers were wearing masks, and virtually all of those were...
