I could imagine, probably one of the reasons I dared to never venture into it.

My past, I guess, has always made me look "down," on shoes, because you wear them on your feet and step on dirty stuff.

I know, I know, bad perception, but it's one I just cannot shake to this day. I mean I like a good pair of shoes, but......

Wrist is pretty exciting!

I’m still a week behind, but yes.

We didn’t have much NBA coverage on TV where I grew up but of course MJ was still the legend. It’s gotta be the shoes. ...

Yours? [nt]

Yes. Artist is Matt Senna.

These are similar to his Study 005 but I asked him to replicate the OG so there are some differences. He’s gotten a lot of traction and press since I bought these, and with that prices have risen considerably. I could never justify buying these today.

Wow, great story, never been a shoe guy myself, but I do admire people that get into it.

It has really become a culture, or sub-culture. Really a "big thing," for some people.

I could imagine, probably one of the reasons I dared to never venture into it.

I get it. That is why unless I’m paying retail I’m not really in the sneaker game.

Prices for some highly desirable or collectible pairs can run into crazy numbers. And like watches, you want to wear them!

Agree!! [nt]

It’s gotta be the shoes! AJ VI, to be exact.

A pic I took when I found out the wife and I were expecting our second son last year: ...

This was the AJ I never had, was still wearing my 5’s at the time and passed me by.

I think I actually had a pair of Pumps during the 6 and 7 era. Normal order was restored for AJ 8. I’ve since owned the 7 (Retro) but never got to the 6. Needs to be done at some point.

You probably already know about Flight Club and StockX, among other options

Definitely not retail, but if you’re just looking for one pair that will be well-worn and thoroughly enjoyed, I think it’s worth it (I wear my VIs often and won’t/can’t resell them). I don’t think I could be a true sneakerhead; the midnight drops and tent...

Well aware of them...I remember 12-14 years ago I used to chat with one of the guys, or maybe the guy, behind FC.

At the time he was wearing a Portuguese Perpetual a lot, so a little bit of a watch guy too. I do have some tolerances for above retail...but there’s a low enough limit on what I’ll pay for sneakers. When the world was bigger, I was a big sneaker hunter. ...

No, I'm not...

I don't want it to end!

Tell me about it!

His era was right in the sweet spot of my teenage years when sports, fashion, culture all mashed together for me. Watching this series has been eye-opening in some respects, but in many others it’s been like reliving my early years!

Not quite sure what it is but I love your watch.

I’m beginning to think I would NEED a Journe sports watch.🤔

Not for nothing...

 By: Journe1304 : May 17th, 2020-17:20
but I think you of all people should definitely have an FP Journe sport watch! First because it’s a nice addition to any collection (FPJ-centric or otherwise) but also because of the new casual way of the world. These days, I have to look for excuses to w...

Excited, but sad it is ending.....

Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player to have ever walked this planet - there was nothing like him before and there has been nothing like him since, on so many levels. Thank heaven's we received this gift during the quarantine! Darren

Fantastic docu-series

Can't wait to watch it tonight. To be honest MJ & Bulls was before my time (or when i was too young to understand the significance). I was clear he was always the reference point, but i always preferred players of my generation, Kobe/Lebron. But having wa...
