And ironically, Looking at them side by side, it makes me want to find a nice example of the 38mm (if prices ever come down a little).

Both are nice! [nt]

I Really appreciate it. I’ve saved your pictures to my hard drive. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š I am obviously a huge fan of the old one but the new one is incredible. I think fans could find a place for both, and it still makes sense. If you can find time, do you think it would b...

The winding crown on the rq is thicker..

and the indents are a little smoother and easier to turn. Similar in feel to the crown on the octa automatique. I’ve always felt the original crown at 12 o’clock was thin enough to feel a little sharp.. All in all, it’s a lot easier to wind.

I can’t decide

Both are fantastic and I am sitting here saying β€œthe new one. Definitely the new. No wait, the old one. Definitely the old.” I guess having both takes care of the issue. Thanks for posting the side-by-side comparisons.

thanks for sharing...the new is a very good evolution of Resonance family !

technical marvel in deed !! enjoy in the best health. Best, mahesh.,

Does the 42 have a wider dial as well?

Can't quite tell from the first picture. I was told the only difference between a 40 and a 42 is the thickness of the bezel. True or false?

Thanks for confirming Christian. [nt]

Agreed, I think the dial is the same size...

Looking at them side by side, I think they use more of the space on the new model so it feels larger.

The old version could be bought in 38 and 40 mm. It was also same dial for that. S9 the area of the new dial has been increased slightly.

You can see some of the facelifted watches e.g. in the Octa range has been given a slightly larger dial as well and then a narrower bezel in 40 mm. No 42 mm cases in these though.

I like the power reserve indicator and crown locations of the 42mm better...

...but for everything else, especially the thinner case and cleaner dial, the 40mm wins. If I were rich I'd get a hybrid.
