F.P. Journe size comparison
Hey everyone,
I am looking into the F.P. Journe Automatique as I love the classic Journe layout of the dial, and how the watch is almost identical to the RdM that came out almost 25 years ago.
I own a Chronometre Bleu, and although it fits me great, I'm not too sure if the 40mm will fit my 6.5in wrist. This has got me considering a 38mm RdM, but the market price of the 38mm compared to the retail price of the 40mm Automatique is giving me pause.
I have not had the opportunity to try on either 38mm or 40mm Journes, and I was wondering if any owner of these two sizes could tell me if the differences in diameter and lug-to-lug measurements are significant and/or noticeable on the wrist. I'd also really appreciate it if you could provide the lug-to-lug distance, as the figures I'm seeing on the internet seem to be all over the place.

At one time I owned 38, 39 and 40mm

At this point I don't have a strong preference for either size. I'd go for a brass movement 38mm, so I'll keep an eye out for one unless I get allocated a 40mm AN. That would have be to for 2027 at the very least, though. I love you collection btw! Lookin...

That Automatique is gorgeous, especially on that strap, and it really does suit your wrist very well. I would imagine that would be much more apparent seeing it in the 3rd person.

So if you have an opportunity to get one, just do it!

I think I will go for a 38mm for the time being if I can find one decently priced, and reassess if I get allocated a 40mm.

I have been watching his reviews for a while, but the L2L measurements of the 40mm Journe watches he reviews are all over the place from under 47mm to over 48mm.
