New in town and a quick Resonance review

Apr 12, 2020,08:28 AM

Hello everybody.

New kid in town (meaning : this forum), I would like to introduce myself with one of my latest acquisition. I'm a French collector, concentrating myself / my attention on GMT's and WorldTime Watches.
I recently (2018/2019) fall in love with FP Journe Watches and especially The Resonance.

Since this time, i searched a 38 mm one for quite some months and finally found one here in Paris at a public auction.

What a pleasure to own this piece. What is striking me everytime i wear it is :
- 38 mm is a perfect size. For me and for the watch. Proportions are exquisite, the movment occupies the watch perfectly and the watch appears perfectly balanced.
- the construction itself make you feel like you wear a fantastic pocket watch but on your wrist !
- the overall coherence is striking. The dial reflects the movment, everything has a purpose and even the power reserve bring something asymetrical in this symetrical world !!

As you can see it's an early Journe. The case is from 2002. I found interesting to see that this watch was sold in geneva before the opening of the first Journe Boutique (hence the signature of "Les Ambassadeurs" on the warranty card).

(if you want to see more pics - here is my instangram : thomascinsta).

I'm not posting lots of posts around here but felt like oblidged to share my enthousiasm with you for this watch.

Here are some pics !!
Happy Easter and take care.

Even if you are not new to WPS, it is a pleasure to have you on board our discussion forum here. OMG, I think you won the lottery with this recent acquisition with a yellow gold dial. These have become very difficult to find these days. Great write up you...

Thx for all of you for your warm welcom

And thx ChristianDK. Actually, I don't know if i won the lottery. A little "anecdote" about the purchase : the first time i saw the watch it was in 2018. At a first public auction where i bought a PP5110. At that time, buying this FPJ was no option and ev...

Thank you for your little anecdote 😊

You’ve made yourself a great introduction.

Probably Journe‘s best watch, and in excellent condition!

A beautiful watch; 38mm, early model with brass movement, and that dial. Congratulations.

Absolute dream watch for me

BUT I must register one disagreement: I do not believe this watch should be understood as a two-time zone watch. It *can* register two different times at once, but that's not the purpose of the complication. In other words: I insist that it does not fit i...

Love this Resonance... Welcome!
