Rolex

Wish I hadn't sold it

Hello,

I'm posting a photo of a Daytona which I bought many years ago and sold soon afterwards.  I bought the watch to replace an old Omega Sppedmaster (pre moon) which I used to time exposures in my photo studio.  This watch was repaired twice by Rolex in the first year I owned it and I decided to go back to the Omega.  I sold this watch and purchased a Rolex GMT II, 16710, which I still own.  I purchased the GMT in '89 so the Daytona must have been purchased in '87 or '88 for about $1000.00.  I was happy to get enough for the Daytona to buy the GMT.  No internet in those days and no way for me to know the scarcity of the piece!  I ran a newspaper ad for the Daytona and had 20 calls but I sold it for less the $2000.00.  It was in pristine condition since much of its life was spent at the Rolex shop!  Does anyone know the model number, movement or value today?  Just curious since it's long gone!  This is the only photo I took of it.  I also had a black dial for the watch on order but I never got it.

Regards,

Chuck
