Summer watch
I got my pilot's licence straight after my 18th birthday (in fact a day before I had my driver's licence), and having been raised behind the Iron Curtain (sort of), meaning with a limited perspective on the broad range of watch brands available, Breitling of course came pretty much top of the list.

Some three years later, I got the watch as a graduation present and was mightily chuffed. My father, who passed the test at the same time, also took the opportunity to make this a bonding experience by getting himself the same watch, albeit with a gray, rather then blue dial.
Meaning the watch will always exert a strong emotional pull, even if the subsequent ones have had / will have more horological appeal or significance. These days I would rarely wear it to work but it does a splendid job as a summer watch. It has been recently serviced - and I have to say I was definitely satisfied with the Breitling service experience (as it was a straight forward job the cost estimate was provided up front, and the watch was back in about two weeks or so, looking brand new into the bargain) - meaning it is definitely waterproof, and can be worn around pools with little fear.
On top it is relatively light, being titanuim, and I find the bracelet very comfortable - much more so than leather in summer.
It is also of a very 1990s size, i.e. relatively compact, so it works well with my less than massive wrist.
I know this is purely personal but none of the subsequent iterations appeal to me nearly as much. Now if they did a time only automatic version, with the same fonts and perhaps an inner (as opposed to outer) rotating bezel, I'd be straight in line for another
