Stingray straps
I’m toying with the idea to get a black/charcoal grey stingray pearl strap for my 114060 Sub - somewhat like the photo below. Searched the forum here and found that some of you had gone through this route before. Unfortunately, I have not found any reviews (in the forum) on these type of straps.
Questions:
1. How does the strap wear after, lets just say a year on a regular basis?
2. Should it be lined for comfort?
3. Any particular recommendations for source/shops? Please PM.

If the sting ray surface is so tough and maybe abrasive

Good to know that the straps are quite durable. I plan to have mine on a clasp. After surfing the net, price range seems to be quite wide depending on the skin quality, ‘pearls’, hardware and of course, the finishing. Thank you for chiming in.

I might use mine to go diving... So construction will be with synthetic threads, SS claps etc; a more robust version, if I may use that term. Lets see how long it’ll hold up.

May I ask why the hesitation, or is it because you have not had time to fix it on yet?
Think twice before you decide
Stingrays (and Pythons too) are all caught in the wild for their skin and they not bred in farms like most alligators and crocodiles. I have to admit that I used to have an AP on a Stingray strap a few years ago. GEO
Hi Geo. Thank you for your concerns and I am well aware of it.
Do note however, in South East Asia and to an extend, Asia Pacific, stingray is primarily commercialy fished for consumption of its meat. These are of course the smaller species and not those Manta rays (or the likes).
