I know that when JLC introduced the new version of the RDM they increased the case diameter to a more contemporary 39mm and that they also tweaked the dial a bit by removing the Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and, 9 and used all applied indices instead.
Were there any other substantive changes?
Specifically I was trying to figure out if the bezel is different. I've seen in person the current version with the slightly sloped bezel, but the older version appears to have a flat bezel, in photos at least. Then again, I guess everything looks flat in photos!
Appreciate any info from current or former owners of this great timepiece.

The case is not only bigger, it is also and most of all ultra thin.

Agree with you, on the bezel. I prefer the older one.

The deployant too...
The new RDMs have the current (and much more comfortable) double-fold deployants. The "old" 37mm RDMs used to have the less comfortable single-fold ones, and only the later ones (from about 2008 onwards perhaps?) have the double-fold ones.
