Quick review of my 3 favorite Japanese beauties
Here is a quick photo shoot comparing my KSK re edition, GS SBGW301 and SBGY011.
Very difficult to capture the dials nuance and texture in picture, you need to see them to appreciate them. I’d describe the KSK as silvery sun ray with deep brushes, the 301 as matt eggshell and the 011 as « paper » white with a hint of metallic shine.
What is amazing is that the 3 watches have similar degree of outstanding dial finishing, even if the list prices are quite different ( 3, 5 and 10k).
I love them all, the spring drive in the 011 is amazingly accurate, the dial more elaborate and the 44GS design is in theory more interesting… but my preference might be on the SGBW301 at the end: the simple yet meticulous finish and overall design just work perfectly! It also hits a sweet spot price wise, the KSK is an amazing « entry level » that makes the 011 suffer a bit of the comparison…the 301 is just right (especially when bought in Japan like I did
