Patek 5167 Strap Question
Hey guys. I'm interested in buying a sporty watch which can be "knocked about" and was seriously considering the IWC 7-Day Power Reserve and the Breguet Marine Automatic Big Date... until my AD suggested the Patek 5167.
To be honest, I had brushed it off immediately as I remembered not being too impressed with whatever pics of the watch that I've seen on the Internet. Well, that was until I saw it in the metal. It still wasn't exactly love at first sight but strangely it somehow grew on me. I was at my AD for an hour, chatting and catching up. Eight hours on and I'm scouring the Net for info on this watch. Can't get it off my mind.
I remember seeing it on a leather strap on this forum.
Is the leather strap available as an option at all? From the Patek website, it seems that it comes in either bracelet or rubber strap. The watch my AD showed me was the bracelet version (it was the only piece there and it was reserved for a customer). In general, I do not like braclets but I got to admit this is one of the nicer ones. I'm leaning towards the rubber strap version although I haven't had the opportunity to handle one.
For those who've seen both versions in the metal, it would be great if you could share your views or choice.
Thanks very much.
Regards,
iAn

I've had the rubber strap because the SS bracelet did not excist at the time I bought the 5167. If I could choose today I would take the SS bracelet. I just don't like rubber straps and that's why I replaced it with a leather strap. The leather strap was ...

I bought mine both with the stainless steel bracelet and the rubber strap. After trying both on at the AD I decided to give a go to the bracelet first, and I must say it is fantastic. I like it better than the bracelets of the former Aquanaut models. I do...
