How does it happen. It starts off with a chance purchase of a watch that has a specific trait and then, perhaps, another with the same trait and then...boom! An obsession on the theme develops. I didn't start looking for an Amagnetic theme. I really didn't. But then, one by one, after the initial start-point, I became obsessed with developing an amagnetic theme. Of course, with amagnetic watches, the definition is a moveable feast. All watches are amagnetic, I guess, but as Orwell would have said, some are more amagnetic than others.
Indeed, some watches were originally designed to be specifically amagnetic for purpose. In this sense, my theme focuses on this specific design function.
From the left....Omega 2777-1...military issue.......IWC 666.....Patek 3417.....Omega 2914.....Rolex 1019 and Blancpain FF AM-caseback. All amagnetic, but look at how diverse these watches are to look at. One could have a complete collection just with these watches...easily. I would be happy......it covers the manufacturers I like (almost), a great variation in style......yes......but......
........I guess I know what question may well be asked.....
If this is the Amag(nificent) 7.....where is the 7th watch...and what is the 7th watch?

When is the question... ;) That is what I call a nice collection of amagnetic.... Some are missing, though... The 7th, of course, but also a close relative, the JLC Mark 11. Which came before the 2777 and much before the Geophysic. Best, my friend, and co...
...either an IWC/Porsche Design OCEAN Bund (but unfortunately almost unobtainable) or a 500,000 A/m Ingenieur. They took magnetic protection to a new level. The movement of either of these wasn't protected from magnetism by the case/dial design, they were...
I think what is so delicious (dangerous) with an Amagnetic theme is that so many watches "could" fit the bill. The Omega Aqua Terra has taken the amagnetic theme to a new level, I think....shouldn't that be a part of the team? Ultimately, we define the li...
