A. Lange & Söhne

new arrival....

Dear friends,

just collected my Dato RG/SD last weekend and today was my 2nd day wearing it. I got it NIB from AD and the AD
was kind enough to provide me with an additional new crocodile strap and a small little travelling pouch to store the
watch when you travel. i think i am lucky man in this world.

The moment i received the Dato was exciting. i remember i went there with my SUbmariner and came out with
this Dato on my wirst instead ( hehe, to be frank, i cant wait to wear it and my wife also strongly suggest to wear it
on the spot). The first thing i noticed when strap it on was it is quite heavy and thick too, in compare with my
ROlex Sub, but since i am so used to the weight of Submariner, so i do not find the weight and thickness of Dato
an disadvantage ( hahaha, i think everyone of us will agree with me that we love Dato because of its superb finishing
movement right??? as according to another big Dato Lange fan, which is Philip Dufour). Honestly speaking, i have much pleasure and enjoyed viewing the movement and playing with the watch, i find both of the chronograph buttons are smooth to operate and most importantly i found the Dato's accuracy is as good as its movement, it only gains +2 seconds after 1 day.

But in my personal opinion, i think guy with small wrist and woman will have problems wearing it due the thickness of this watch (it has diameter 39mm, thickness 12.8 mm), it's not going be comfortable for them to wear.

in addition, i prefer the new color dial (silver dial) compare to the black dial which was already discontinued.
the Silver dial is somehow much better looking and more eligible with RG case than its predecessor black dial.and
its silver dial make the watch has more vintage look IMO.  of course this is only MHO and i hope i wont get blame from the DAto Black dial owner.

Actually my photography skill was poor and my heart was struggling whether to take this chance to take
few shoots and post them over here....but i believe you guys wont mind too much and will forgive me right? smile
so sorry guys for the poor quality pictures and i promise i will improve in future smile

The outer box.

The leather inner box, i noticed that the Dato box is 2 times bigger than normal Lange box.

Front view, i love the chronograph subdias at 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock, they add some uniqueness to the watch.
and of course the Lange patented big outside date. i know some of you are prefer the 1815 chrono than Dato due
its lack of date module and further make it slimmer and more comfortable to wear . i find  1815 chrono is must have piece
for all Lange lover too, i hope i will be able to get it too, however i think the chances will be slim course many other
Lange lovers will grab it after its discontinuton.

Thanks for your time.
