My first Rolex
Well this is it. The GMT II 16710. By many measures, it is nothing spectacular. Yet to me, it is a hugely important watch. It is my first Rolex.
About 8 or 9 years ago, I bought this watch. It was the first Rolex I have ever owned. Foolishly, i sold it about 3 years ago, but I sold it to a gentleman who knows me well. And so, after some arm-twisting, he has sold it back to me! It is a very odd feeling because I have become very attached to the various Rolex that I have built into my current collection, but now that I have my very first Rolex as well, the entire collection has much more meaning.

It's my not so new Rolex (but not vintage) ;even this has a certain charm that the new pieces cannot replicate IMO. best fernando

I think quite often new collectors come to these forums and ask for advice etc. I think there should almost be a golden rule that is always passed on. "Never sell your first watch". Nicolas....great idea for a thread. "My first watch".
That was my first Rolex too!
I traded it eventually, but I always thought it was such a Rolex-Rolex. In a good way. Congrats.

The 16710 is one of the most versatile Rolex sports watches out there. It's got the ability to change the bezel insert (black/pepsi/coke) and wear either the oyster or jubilee bracelet. Wear it in good health!
