Many moons ago, a 172
Wish I held on to this PAM. The tantalum color was gorgeous. Despite this wonderful case material, the watch was not as heavy as advertised. Like with almost all PAMs, I would prefer a solid caseback. But it was a very cool release at the time, and no doubt got a few hearts pumping.

but like you said not as heavy as it could have been. Was on my bucket list for years, but after holding one, I strangely decided against it...
It was a still a pleasure on the wrist.
But coming across other tantalum watches over the years, I would have expected the PAM to be much heavier.

The first tantalum watch I ever saw, ever held. Loved it.

I sure wish I did. One of the most special PAMs, and in a very non-Panerai way, they have not copied it again
Maybe they decided it is much easier to re-make all of their non-tantalum watches instead.
They make the 172 and the 192 Chrono
I believe the 192 has a Lemania chronograph movement but was much less popular than the simpler 172 with a Panerai movement. at the time I could’ve bought either one but went with the simplest one that seems to show off the tantalum better because of the ...
