Lange 1 Moonphase - not perpetual?

Hi there

I apologise if this is a stupid question, but I presume that the Lange 1 Moonphase is not a perpetual calendar? So you have to initially synchronise the moon phase when setting the numerical date? And after that it should remain accurate until you die! With a perpetual calendar, I presume you just set the time, date and year and the moonphase will be set correctly automatically?

What is the common thought on what to do with a manually wound moonphase watch when you don't wear it for a week or so, if you are away on holiday (without the obvious solution of bringing it with you and enjoying it there!)?

Do owners of a Lange 1 secretly wish they had a plain Lange 1, which is purer? Or is the Lange 1 Moonphase really it?

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Kind regards

Pat
