Lamborghini Concept Car Headed To Auction
I used to consider myself more of a "Ferrari-Fan" rather than a "Lamborghini Lover" but after a 45-minute experience in the Lamborghini Aventador, my first experience driving a Lamborghini, I was totally smitten. You can read about my experience in the mighty Lamborghini Aventador here:

After falling in love with Lamborghini's Aventador, for its design and driving performance, I was even more impressed with the fighter-jet concept car they unveiled for their 50th Anniversary, the Lamborghini EGOISTA! The Egoista was a car that looked like a Eurofighter jet for the ground. Not only that, it was also just an incredible work of art with such amazing little details that completed the fighter-pilot feeling, it was a bit like Madd Max meets Top Gun.

And then the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento really pushed my buttons... Just an amazing beautiful aesthetic design, something so beautiful yet functional that it could have its own multi-page fold out in a dirty magazine. It was like nature, something crafted with evolution, Fibonacci, and inherent beauty all within one arthropod-like machine. There was life to this design, "anima" instinct, and functional beauty.

The Lamborghini Concept S is an open-top roadster version of the Lamborghini Gallardo without a traditional windscreen. Launched in 2006, it was hailed as a design achievement to the extremes. Its radical design necessitated the use of helmets and promised bug splatter for its occupants. Despite this lack of practicality, its unparalleled beauty would nevertheless justify its creation and reason to exist.
To gauge customer interest and production viability, Luc Donckerwolke, Lamborghini's then head-of-design, ordered a fully-functioning prototype to be made, but even if customer interest was high, the Global Economic Crisis of 2008 definitely killed the idea and soon the radical model was euthanized.
This one functioning model is the only one of its kind to exist. It's a chance for car collectors to own a true work of singular art. The Lamborghini Concept S will be auctioned off later this year in New York by RM Auctions | Sotheby's and is expected to fetch between $2 Million and $3 Million US Dollars. Whoever gets it, will be able to say they own a one-off, and an early example of a long line of exceptional, distinguished, and unusual concept cars from Lamborghini that include the Egoista (my personal favorite) and the Sesto Elemento.

Not a fan of the Egoist at all !
But the Sesto Elemento does appeal to me .. a lot .... BUT please with a round steering wheel :-) Does Sotheby's accept a bouncing check you think ? :-)

It might actually be the same car. Maybe different non-functioning prototypes were made and shown around the world, but only one functioning car was built? Just a guess. Good find!

Ahh, "Monoposto feel" is the operating descriptor for this car...
Just like an F1 race car, Monoposto open cockpit feel. There's even the painted exterior trim separating the driver and passenger for more of that race car feel.
