JLC Black Memovoxes E 855 / E 859.
To paraphrase a Duometre ad, " One legend, two faces ".
Black Memovoxes are highly attractive.
There is a difference of 7 mm between these 2, but their presence and strenght are undisputable.
The E 855:
The E 859:
Here featured in the same catalog, from 1966, the E 857 being called Memovox Plongeur ( Diver ) better known Under the " Polaris " nickname, of course.
In the US, it is also called Deep Sea Skin Diver:
Anyway, when you look at these 2 Memovoxes, you can notice that these 2 dials are very close. Now, the question is to know if they share the same size, which I am not sure at all.
But one thing I am sure is that they are pretty charming!
One for the town, one for the holidays. One for the work, another more casual.
Yes, this is the kind of Duo which makes you want to dive into a collection!

They pop out, from time to time. No worries, you will find it.
I have seen a Polaris 68 dial mounted in a E 855...
