It took me 7 years…

In September 2015, I was treated to a 1:1 introduction to the 2 new Geophysic models in the Madison Av. boutique in NY by Philippe Bonay, no less, then head of JLC in North America.

I fell in love with both models and - not least - the clear upgrade in perceived value stemming from better finish etc. I loved the austere True Second Model and lusted for the Universal Time model. Did not buy any of them, though. I had other priorities at that time.

Fast forward to yesterday where I finally took action. I am now the proud and happy owner of a True Seconds.

It nicely supplements my Tribute to Geophysic bought in the same boutique in 2014.

Why did I keep thinking of it for 7 years? Well, the True Seconds (deadbeat) feature speaks to my inner nerd, the Gyrolab balance links to the Extreme Lab 1 (I own en EL2) and the ability to adjust the time/date by only moving the hour hand is just so practical.

All together, one happy camper at this end.

Any other points of view on this watch - good and bad?

Bravo! This is a very under rated watch which will count in the History of the brand, when people will realize that the Cal 770 ( and the 772 ) was only issued for this watch. Congrats!

But I do seem to remember that the price at launch was somewhat higher than normal at the time for the two. Maybe that, combined with the ‘weird’ functionality scared people away?

…why not get the Universal Time? But would I then also have to get the Geophysic Tourbillon Universal Time? And would I then have to collect all the other Jaeger tourbillions? Jury’s still out on all these questions 😂😉
