Calling this charmer of a watch by its official name (Seiko Prospex Land ‘Navigator Timer’ Mechanical GMT Limited Edition SPB411J1) is quite a mouthful, so the other day a good friend of mine christened it much more succinctly as “homely.”
I had a good laugh at that, as I couldn’t have agreed with him more, but the piece has been what perhaps homely does best -- reliable, simple, unobtrusive.
Turns out pleasingly accurate, too. The 72-hour power reserve Caliber 6R54 inside has been ticking along at +1 sec/day.
The GMT and date functions are adjusted by turning the crown either clockwise or counterclockwise.
