GMT-Master Generations
Dropping off the 16710 at the bank vault today and took a shot of the GMT-Master family lineage. I'm missing the first and current references, 6542 and 116710, respectively. While always on the lookout for a nice 6542 I'm still waiting for a non-white gold Ceramic Pepsi GMT-Master. I do like the current "Batman" model, but maybe Rolex will surprise us with a SS Ceramic Pepsi one day?
From L to R:
16710, 16760, 16700, 16750, 16753, 1675
All are Pepsi inserts except the 16760 (Coke, hard to tell in the pics) and of course the 16753 (Bronze and Gold).
The sapphire models: 16710 (Z-serial, last of the 16710s; still has the case stickers on the sides and caseback), 16760 (Coke insert; dial is turning matte), 16700 (A-serial with Luminova dial; last of the 16700s).
The plastic models: 16750 (with Rolex Japan service papers), 16753 (Beautiful bronze nipple dial and two-tone Jubilee bracelet with correct 50 ends), 1675 (Perfect Mark II dial; sold in 1972 at the U.S. Embassy store in Bonn,
West Germany; I have the box, papers and receipt). I know, I'll have to get better shots of these.
