Ok guys, yesterday somebody from the Czech Republic/US started this auction .... and one of you convinced him to end it early, right?
Omega Chronometre ref 2254, approx 1939. The first chronometer wristwatch of the 30T2 series, arched script over the Omega symbol, 30T2 SCPC movement calibrated to chronometer specification, screwback, fancy lugs.
This particular example had right hands, right case, no bezel, wrong crown, and something to be checked about the movement. The number seems too low for me (circa 1936?) plus the ratchet wheel is non-chronometric and something about the balance wheel does not look right.
He told me that an American and a German had already enquired so ... Bill, Erich was that you?
Certainly a rare watch, perhaps a very early one.
Best wishes
Franco
