Chromatically challenged: what do you think?
I’ve been enjoying my Mori quite a bit since receiving it. However, the black strap on which it came felt uninspired. As such, I was interested to try something different that would accentuate the unique dial color and design. Unfortunately, I’m convinced I chose wrong and in the process created a clash of colors.
The nubuck strap in the picture is a bluish-grey color which i thought was a nice middle ground between a light grey and dark grey nubuck straps. The quality is very good...but when I fit it on the watch, the color just doesn’t seem to go with the dial, although I don’t know why I didn’t appreciate that when initially ordering. Perhaps the problem is that the dial and strap are both “cold” hues. In retrospect, it’s either a dark grey or black strap that goes best. So, back in black is the way to go.

I’m thinking that I should give the strap a fair chance by wearing more. Also, over time I believe it may darken into a beautifully harmonic strap+dial piece.

I will try it for a while to be more fair and for the fact that I don’t dislike it at all. It was perhaps a more visceral reaction to the fact it was so different to me than with the black strap. But “relaxing” is accurate to me, and that’s all good. Than...
