ArmisT's acquisition of the Kudoke 2 'Bauhinia' with its captivating Tahitian Mother-of-Pearl dial offers a fascinating look into the allure of independent watchmaking. His initial impressions highlight the dynamic interplay of light and color on the dial, a characteristic often challenging to capture photographically. This piece explores why this particular Kudoke reference has resonated so deeply with collectors, drawing comparisons and insights from the WatchProSite community.

I’ve been enamored by the Kudoke 2 for some time now, ever since I saw the Nocturne.  The white dial is attractively ‘pure’, but I’ve liked the other more recent creations, specifically the Red Dunes and green Grüner Wald editions.   Then, I saw this new edition with a Tahitian MOP dial and it was lights out.  I haven’t had the chance to bond with it yet, so I’ve just been admiring its dynamic dial. For sure, this is too hard a dial for me to accurately capture in a picture.  In the metal, the dial is much darker than it appears here, but then you see a wave and swirl of colors appear when the light catches it.  I’ll see if I can take better snapshots at a later time.  In the meantime, thanks for looking.
