Bothered by the annual calendar?
I have a 5905P, it is lovely, stylish, avant garde, and has tremendous wrist presence at 42mm. The one thing I continue to be bothered by however, is that it is an annual calendar and not perpetual. I just can’t help but wish every time I look at it that it had the pinnacle of calendar complications and feel as though I “settled” with an annual calendar vice perpetual. I have gotten over the legibility issues and it has easily become the most enjoyable watch in my collection to wear (5905P, 5170J, 5124G, 5130R) but I just wish it was a PC and it irks me that it is an AC and I don’t have the gold standard PC. The platinum case, case shape, dial, bezel, everything about it is spectacular except for the AC complication. I’d appreciate any comments to either talk me into keeping it and easing my concerns over it being an AC...or comments advocating to sell it. Thanks.

Your 5905P is a really good looking piece, I wouldn't trade it for a perpetual just to avoid having to set the watch once a year. Factor on top of that the additional cost of a PC+servicing.
However, I'm generally not a fan of perpetual or annual calendar watches. The dials often get too cluttered, the backside usually doesn't look any better than a standard time-only watch, and the idea of being able to break the watch by setting the functio...

... and prefer a simple Calatrava or a PC over any of the ACs stuck in the middle. Given that you seem to like the 5905 so much I am wondering which PC you have in mind. The current models don't do much for me except for maybe the 5740. The 5320 dial layo...
I like the way you think.
Go simple or go grand. No half measures. I think for the OP the 5320 would be a great choice, or even the 5740 for something more sporty. Much as a I love the 3940, i think it will be too small for the OP based on his other choices.

I understand but I don't think this is a concern...comparisons can be constructive "horizontally" (i.e., among different ACs), but they are IMO unfeasible "vertically" (i.e., AC vs. PC).
Why are you bothered that the 5905 is not a PC but, for instance, you are OK that the 5170 is not a split-second? ;-)

3940 being the exception, an old benchmark, too small. The follow up references have a design inferior to their AC models
