An Offhanded Omega Purchase.....
Week before last, I was cruising a well known auction site and ran across a 1952 Omega......

I had never seen an vintage Omega that looked like this. It was a white dial roulette wheel at center that was selling for no reserve, had about two hours left until bidding ceased, and was selling at a price I could not believe. I asked myself "what is wrong with the watch?". I placed a bid at a ridiculously low price and I won! It was just a spur of the moment decision.
I was not expecting too much when it arrived but the watch was beautiful. It was just serviced, it is obvious the entire exterior had been polished. I took out my trusty 10x loupe and sure enough the hands are original and in great shape. The dial is beautiful and probably resurfaced and the strap was new but inexpensive. I replaced the strap with a better leather strap and truly I am impressed.

...the watch is a purported Omega. Without pictures of the inside of the movement and case, it is impossible to tell for sure if any part of it is genuine. I can say with confidence that Omega never, ever made dials like this. So long as you like it, I do...
Probably 'Ukraine Made'
Probably it is not 'Swiss Made' but 'Ukraine Made' or associates. I will never ever put it on my wrist, however attractive or cheap it may be. I would rather wear the cheapest of Seikos or Casios.
One thing I am sure about is that the dial is not correct.
But I think you guessed that, and that it is not an important detail, if you took the risk... Best! Nicolas.

That case looks pretty clean and crisp....
...and extremely polished as you say. As other have mentioned, would love to see what powers this and the inside/outside of the caseback. I'm no snob, and fun is fun.
The dial isn't the only issue, Laurens . . .
. . . so are the corroded hands, crown, and case. The movement is a mystery so far; I wouldn't be surprised if that, too, didn't originate at Omega. Any chance of a refund?

Hey guys....it was only $299! I liked it, it was manufactured in 1952 which is the same as another Omega I have. Heck, I did not care at that price. I even thought it may have been cobbled together from 2 or 3 Omegas. It is not a serious watch like a lot ...

. . . but I'm just now seeing these images. That's not a valid Omega case - no reference number on the inside of the caseback. The only connection with Omega, as far as I can tell, is the movement. Cordially, Art
Better not to buy
The purchase of such rubbish will only encourage the con-artists to flood the market with more of this stinking garbage. The unsuspecting buyer or a potential vintage-watch collector may think it is the real thing.
